Contact: , 402-856-2097;
The Beef Checkoff continues to come up with fresh ideas to increase beef consumption. Beef producers attending a “New Product Exchange” got a first-hand look at some of the new products that may fuel future demand.
Beyond new cuts, the checkoff partners with companies such as Cryovac and Schwans to foster innovation. These two companies participated in a New Product Exchange to share ideas and showcsae new beef products.
New beef products and cuts, developed with the help of the beef checkoff, have the potential to meet consumer needs and build beef demand for the long term.

The Beef Checkoff Program was established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill. The checkoff assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle, in addition to a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. States retain up to 50 cents on the dollar and forward the other 50 cents per head to the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board, which administers the national checkoff program, subject to USDA approval.
