According to the Beef Act, industry information means information and programs that lead to development of new markets, marketing strategies, increased efficiency, and activities to enhance the image of the cattle industry. Checkoff programs focusing on industry information include beef, veal and dairy quality assurance; issues management; and the National Beef Ambassador program.

The checkoff recently helped Hannaford, a Northeast retail chain, implement “Safe and Savory at 160 F messaging in their grocery stores. An advertorial ran in the July/August edition of Hannaford’s popular in-store magazine “Fresh”, appeared in 275,000 printed copies of the magazine which are distributed to 170 Hannaford stores, and the magazine (and advertorial) also is viewable on the Hannaford website.
